We are looking for an experienced Supervisor – Brass Insert Pin Division to oversee the production, quality, and operational efficiency of the Brass Insert Pin manufacturing department. The ideal candidate will supervise daily production activities, manage manpower, ensure product quality, maintain machine performance, and achieve production targets while adhering to safety and quality standards. Experience in brass insert manufacturing, CNC/automatic machines, and continuous improvement initiatives is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Supervision
- Supervise daily production activities in the Brass Insert Pin Division.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within planned timelines.
- Monitor machine utilization, productivity, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Allocate manpower efficiently across production lines and shifts.
- Coordinate shift handovers to ensure uninterrupted production.
2. Manufacturing Operations
- Oversee the manufacturing of brass insert pins as per engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Monitor CNC machines, automatic turning machines, thread rolling machines, and secondary operations.
- Ensure proper setup, tooling, and machine parameter verification.
- Optimize cycle time and improve production efficiency.
- Minimize machine downtime through effective coordination with maintenance teams.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure products meet dimensional, visual, and functional quality requirements.
- Conduct in-process inspections and first-piece approvals.
- Monitor rejection rates and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for inspection and customer requirements.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) implementation.
4. Team Leadership
- Supervise machine operators, helpers, and production staff.
- Train employees on work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and workforce performance.
- Motivate team members to improve productivity and quality.
- Conduct daily production meetings and shift briefings.
5. Production Planning & Inventory Control
- Execute production plans provided by the planning department.
- Monitor raw material consumption and reduce wastage.
- Ensure timely availability of brass rods, tooling, and consumables.
- Coordinate with Stores and Purchase for material requirements.
- Maintain production records and daily reports.
6. Machine Maintenance
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure machines remain in optimum operating condition.
- Report equipment abnormalities and recommend improvements.
- Monitor tooling life and replacement schedules.
- Maintain housekeeping around machines and workstations.
7. Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.
- Implement 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for productivity improvement and cost reduction.
- Reduce scrap, rework, and production losses.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of brass insert pin manufacturing processes.
- Experience with CNC turning, automatic machines, and secondary operations.
- Knowledge of production planning and shop floor management.
- Understanding of quality inspection methods and measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and manufacturing tolerances.
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under production deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 5–10 years of experience in brass insert pin manufacturing or precision machining.
- Experience in supervising CNC machining or brass component production.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and production documentation.
- Experience in automotive, electrical, or precision engineering industries is preferred.
