Job Summary
We are looking for enthusiastic B.E./B.Tech Mechanical Engineering Freshers to join our Sheet Metal Manufacturing team as Graduate Engineer Trainees (GET). This role is ideal for candidates who are eager to build a career in sheet metal fabrication, production, design, and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, strong analytical abilities, and a willingness to learn modern manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Manufacturing
- Assist in day-to-day sheet metal production activities.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure production targets are achieved.
- Support production planning and workflow optimization.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Coordinate with supervisors to resolve shop-floor issues.
Design & Engineering Support
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Assist in preparing manufacturing drawings and process documentation.
- Support design modifications and engineering change implementation.
- Work with CAD software for basic drawing updates (AutoCAD/SolidWorks is preferred).
- Assist in product development and prototype activities.
Quality Assurance
- Support quality inspections during production.
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Participate in root cause analysis for quality issues.
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain quality records and documentation.
Process Improvement
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Assist in process optimization and continuous improvement projects.
- Support implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Purchase, Planning, and Maintenance teams.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare daily and weekly production reports.
- Participate in technical meetings and project discussions.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T fundamentals.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Freshers (0–1 year of experience) are encouraged to apply.
- Internship or academic project in manufacturing or sheet metal is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of CNC Laser Cutting, CNC Bending, Welding, Powder Coating, or Fabrication processes is preferred.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
